eBay acquires Shutl and adds new personalization features
eBay made two moves today that buyers will like. First it announced it had aquired Shutl, a UK-based startup that aggregates the extra bandwidth of your local delivery couriers to offer you expedited and precise shipping for your purchases. The move is clearly a continuation of eBay’s strategy to challenge Amazon and Google for the same-day shipping title, and will allow eBay to expand its local delivery service eBay Now to 25 new markets.
The second announcement was a release of curated content features on the marketplace. eBay will feature products handpicked by their own in-house team of curators, and buyers will now have the option to follow the curated selections of other buyers, as well as their favorite sellers.
